About GLI Advisory
GLI Advisory works with principals, founders and families across the Gulf on two things: where they can hold status in the world, and how their businesses are structured to operate in it. We take on fewer engagements than we could, because the work only holds its value if the advice is genuinely considered.
The firm
GLI International Advisory FZCO is registered in the Dubai Multi Commodities Center and operates from Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The practice serves clients across the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia, and works in English throughout. Our advisory team includes a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.
Engagements are led by senior advisers from the first conversation through to completion. You will not be passed down to a junior team once terms are agreed, and you will not find yourself re-explaining your position to someone new. Where specialist expertise is required, whether legal counsel in the relevant jurisdiction, licensed agents or tax specialists, we will identify suitable professionals and coordinate the engagement. Those specialists are retained by you directly and advise you in their own right.
Most of our work arrives by referral or introduction. We do not publish client names or case studies, and we do not discuss client matters, including the fact of an engagement, with anyone outside it. For the people we work with, that is usually a precondition rather than a preference.
Two divisions
The two divisions serve different needs and are kept visually and operationally distinct. Clients frequently engage one without ever encountering the other.
Global Mobility
Advising principals and families on second citizenship and residency programs across the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America and West Africa, from first eligibility review through to documents in hand.
Management Consulting
Working with founders, family offices and executive teams on strategy, market entry and operating structure, principally across the GCC, and principally with businesses at the point where informal arrangements stop working.
How we work
Not every enquiry becomes an engagement, and not every objective is best served by the program a client first has in mind. Where we believe another jurisdiction, or another firm, would serve you better, we will say so. We would rather decline an engagement than take one we do not believe in, and clients who have been sold to before tend to recognize the difference quickly.
Investment migration programs change, sometimes quickly and sometimes without warning. Several are in active reform as we write. We distinguish between what is settled law, what has been announced, and what remains unpublished. We also say plainly when we do not know, rather than presenting a confident answer we cannot support.
Immigration and mobility advice is our own discipline, and we give it directly. Matters outside it, such as tax treatment, property law and corporate structuring in the relevant jurisdiction, sit with independent specialists and legal counsel. Where a client wants a position clarified, we will identify the right people and coordinate the introduction, though those advisers are retained by the client and act on their own account. We do not advise on the merit of any investment.
Coverage
Program requirements change, sometimes at short notice. We maintain working positions across the jurisdictions below and review them continuously rather than at the point a client asks.
Program pages carry a review date and are updated as requirements change. Where a reform has been announced but not yet implemented, we say so rather than presenting an unsettled position as settled.
Applications are submitted through licensed agents in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not publish partner names, project lists or approved developments. Availability changes, and what suits one client’s horizon may be wrong for another’s. Current options are reviewed with you at the assessment stage.
Every engagement begins with a confidential assessment: what you are solving for, what is realistically available to you, and whether we are the right firm for it. Held in confidence, with no obligation to proceed.
